I have an LP Propane Gas Heater and an LP Propane Hot Water Heater in my home and I purchased the Zorvo Detector to keep me safe from toxicosis, explosion and fire because of a gas leak. This one detector can test for LP Gas, Natural Gas, and Coal Gas. Where you place the detector depends on what kind of gas you have in your home. In my case using LP Gas, it should be placed near the floor and near the gas source.  This worked out great because this plugs into a regular 110v/220v outlet. and I plugged it into the outlet right next to the propane heater. 

This has a digital LED display that shows the concentrate level of gas in the home. When the levels are dangerous the state indicator light will change from green to red and the alarm will go off until the gas clears and returns back to normal. It also has a power indicator light that will show green to let you know it is on and working. Very simple to use just plug it in and make sure the power light is lit green. This gives me peace of mind knowing I have an alarm in case of a gas leak.
