Having two boys in Boy Scouts and going on campouts every month, we need pocketknives. We have sharpening stones and knife sharpening tools, but even with that, you can never have too many to pick from. And when it is a multi-tool, it is all the better. I do seem to have some issues with them losing or breaking their multi-tools, so getting a two for one set is a great deal for me.
This set has a ton of tools in it. You get two multi-tools, both exactly the same (which works great since I have 2 boys). It is made of a nice heavy, durable metal that isn't too heavy that it will bother you in your pocket. It isn't overly bulky or burdensome, being less than 4 inches in total length. It is made of steel and has a nice shine to it. After handling one of them a few times, I don't really see fingerprints all over it, so it isn't a shiny finish.
The tools you get in the multi-tool: large blade, fish de-scaling tool, scissors, can opener, timber saw, bottle opener, corkscrew, needle-threader, filer, leather puncher, and philips head screwdriver. The larbe blade is about 2 1/2 inches long, so small enough to do the most basic of jobs needed on a campout, hike, or fishing. I do wish it had a set of pliers on it though. I know when I was still camping with the boys (Cub Scouts), we often needed to pry something off, pick it up, etc. and one of our leaders had a multi-tool with pliers that came in quite handy. But for all of the basic tools you get, this is not a bad option.
Be careful when opening the tools the first few times. They are a bit difficult to open and pull out. I was worried I would hurt myself on one of the tools trying to open them all up. The seller says that the first opening is difficult, but after that they should move easier and easier. In my mind that means it is put together very tightly the first time around, and over time it loosens up. To me that translates to "It will eventually loosen up to the point of not being effective at holding tools, or fall apart." And I did notice it was challenging to open some of the tools without opening another first. I understand the reason, being a small tool and everything neatly arranged together. But it did get annoying the few times I wanted to open things up. Once open, the tools snap in to place strongly and stay there through the use.
Overall great multi-tool. Could use a few improvements, but for the price can't be beat. When you have 2 boys who participate in the same activities, buying in pairs is a must. Getting a deal like this is great, and if they get lost, stolen, or broken I can always pick up more.
