In my quest to prepare for a new setup I was looking for a type of ‘docking station’ that was also not too expensive and then I came across this little gadget. This gadget is advertised as a hub with 3 USB 3 ports, a HDMI port and a ethernet port. It also has a spare Type-C port to make up for the one that you’re using to plug in the device, which is nice so that you don’t feel like you’re sacrificing it (you know, in case you need it for something else; my laptop only has one, so that was good for me).
This item arrived very quickly and was packaged nicely and the box is came in made it feel like it was more secure. Lots of protection in the little box. The build feels solid and it doesn’t feel cheap at all, which is wonderful.
Onto the actual working – well it works as it should. The USB ports work as they should as well as the Type-C port. The only ports that I wasn’t able to test was the HDMI port as well as the ethernet port since I don’t have a HDMI monitor (I am currently waiting for a HDMI to VGA adaptor so I plan to update this after I test with a monitor) and I use WiFi as my connection (I’m no where able to hardline into a router).
Aside from not being able to test the two ports, I am happy with the purchase and it fits my needs to have a small and inexpensive dock well.
