This is a very practical and robustly well made weekend or other travel bag for men (or women too frankly). It’s a capacious item of luggage that’s functional and handy to use.
The weekend bag is made from a combination of tough feeling canvas material, with faux leather for the hoop shaped handles and mounts for the shoulder strap. It’s a nice walnut colour with the faux leather in a nicely contrasting umber brown. The exterior of the base has four hemisphere metal studs, one at each corner.
The shoulder strap is easily adjustable with a moveable padded sleeve, which you can position over your shoulder, to help alleviate pressure when the bag is loaded with heavier items.
The faux leather handles are chunky enough to let you get a good grip, but pliable enough so that they’re comfortable to hold even if the bag is stuffed full of heavier objects.
The main zip runs smoothly and looks and feels like it ought to stand the test of time. You can open up a sizeable compartment at one end of the bag, which is perfect to store footwear or dirty clothing. It’s made from a polyester which feels thick enough that it shouldn’t tear too easily.
One inner side of the main compartment of the bag has two pockets, which are big enough to hold items like a mobile ‘phone or wallet, etc. There’s also a spring-loaded metal clip where you can store a set of keys.
The other inner side of the main compartment is big enough for a tablet like an iPad and has a Velcro fastening at the opening.
I used this weekend bag for a weekend jaunt to Budapest recently and it did everything I needed it to do. I was able to carry two pairs of jeans and three long sleeved shirts, a pair of Sketchers walking boots, an iPad, some compact binoculars and an instant camera, a toiletries bag and some underwear, a travel guide book, a metal flask, and a few snacks for the flights there and back.
I’m very pleased with this weekend bag. It’s a no thrills item of luggage that does exactly what it’s supposed to do and is ruggedly good looking. No complaints from me.
