We always have had gooseneck floor lamps in the house. They allow you to adjust the light to your personal reference. The problem has been that the fluorescent lamps don't last and replacements can be quite costly.
This new LED floor lamp is a very big improvement over the traditional lamps we have always had. It has a veavy base to keep it steady, a 3-section pole, and a light-head mounted atop a completely flexible gooseneck, that keeps the light precisely where you want it. On the top of the lamp section, there are two touch-sensitive buttons, one which controls four-levels of illumination, the other controls three-color modes. All together, there are 12 different light settings for you to choose. It is powered by a 1/2 amp all adapter, no worry about high voltage in the amp itself.
