This MADETEC Solar Fountain is perfect for birdbaths. It allows me to move the solar panel where it gets the most sun to operate it with the 12-foot cord. I like that I can control the height of the fountain flow and what type of spray by changing the sprinkle head attachments. This helps keep the water in the fountain where it belongs so it doesn't' go dry quickly.
It starts up once the solar panel has been in sunlight for 3 seconds. The solar panel must remain in the sun in order for it to operate.

I don't recommend this type of fountain for ponds because it has to be connected to the solar panel with the 12-foot cord and I prefer it to float independently around the pond. The cord would keep it close to the shore with only 12 feet of cord. I prefer a fountain with an independent built-in solar panel. Yet this is perfect for birdbaths.
