This small dongle uses BT 4.0 and has a wireless transmission of up to 600Mbps.
It supports two frequency bands, 2.4G and 5.8G. The Wi-Fi wireless card has a WPS one-key encryption, which ensures wireless network security. The dongle is compatible with Windows 10, 8, and 7, Windows XP, and Vista and Mac operating systems, according to the manufacturer. The USB adapter is small and is easily recognized when inserted into the USB port of a PC.
In order to install the software, the device needs a data disc, which is provided with the adapter, in order to be installed on a PC.
The setting up of the software for this device is rather fiddly. On the CD there are files for installing both Bluetooth and Wi-Fi for both Windows and Mac. These files are however zipped so a program to unzip these files is needed.
After unzipping the files one can choose which system is relevant for the user and download the files to install both the BT and Wi-Fi drives.
Note: I have tried this adapter with a Windows 7.0 PC. Therefore, I have no experience using it with other types of Windows or with Mac computers.
The USB adapter enables a non-Bluetooth computer to be able to connect to Bluetooth devices such as smartphones, tablets, speakers, headset, keyboard, mouse, etc.
This adapter can also enable a PC to use a Wi-Fi internet connection.
