This is an elegant, understated looking vanity/makeup mirror, with a nice hint of retro in the design because of the vaguely tortoiseshell appearance of the frame of the mirror.

It’s a twin sided mirror with an approximate width of 5 inches. One side of the mirror gives a x1 reflection, whilst the other side provides a x7 enlargement. The x7 enhancement of your refection lets you see in very great detail the minutiae of your skin and features, including every mole and spot, blemish and hair.

If you’re a female using this mirror, the larger sized reflection is a great aid to checking the application and end result of your makeup, with a far greater degree of scrutiny than somebody else looking at you once you’re out on the town, male or female.

If you’re a male using this mirror, it’s great for checking that your close shave – manual or electric – is every bit as close as you’d want it to be before going to the pub with your pals or out on a date.

The glass used for the mirror is an optical glass and the reflection it gives, both at x1 and x7 magnification, is very detailed and true, as good as other mirrors I’ve bought at far greater cost.

The appearance of the mirror isn’t particularly a “girly” design. It’s sufficiently manly that you don’t need to be a metrosexual male to enjoy and feel comfortable using this mirror as part of your routine for getting ready for a social (or even business) occasion.

The frame is an amber colour with a few noticeable swirls, which is why I mentioned a tortoiseshell effect, but I think it’s a timeless design.

The mirror comes with a two legged stand that simply slides on and off the handle. The legs look and feel both thick and sturdy enough, that they should withstand regular use without breaking.  The mirror itself, both the handle and the circular frame, give an equally reassuring feel and impression of solidity and durability.

The mirror comes with a soft, brown coloured cleaning cloth with sawtooth edging. The product is packaged inside a fairly sturdy, rectangular cardboard box, that’s a mix of beige, white, and marble effect brown colours.

In summation, this is a handsome, retro designed mirror, that uses high quality glass housed in a solid feeling frame. It’s great to use for anybody - whether you’re a man or woman - who wants to make the most of your looks before you go out anywhere.
