When we moved in 01/01/18 I regretfully had to leave behind a lot of stuff. So I went online looking to buy a Thermos container for myself and came across this one and glad I bought this instead. It's smooth, shiny, well made, perfect size and cost less than the other brand. Spoon was a bonus however I could care less for it as I always use larger disposable plastic spoons. Nonetheless I love it! Right after I opened the package I filled it with boiling hot water and let it sit for couple hours. 5 hours later I dipped my finger in it and it as very warm. Lid is tight so this will definitely be a challenge for a kid but then 10 Oz Thermoses my daughter uses are tight as well and she asks teachers for help.
One of the main factors when it comes to my purchase are reviews. Here are some reviews that I don't agree with:
****isnt very wide for food and it is impossible to get food in or out and also very messy**** It's precisely same width as other ones I had including Thermos brand
****not the greatest quality and the lid is too small to use as a bowl**** Quality is equal to known brands and no container with similar to this comes with larger cup/bowl
****MADE IN CHINA SO SUPER CHEAPLY MADE...**** It's well made. Nova days most of everything is made in China including well known brands such Thermos
****Size: 17OZ|Color: Red It’s so small! Even can’t fit my daughter ‘s lunch!****17 Oz is a normal portion for an adult let alone for a child, of corse unless it's a bigger built man like my husband then yes 17 Oz would not be sufficient. My 6.5 yo uses 10 Oz thermos and it's enough for her. Hope they are not overfeeding poor girl
****No kind of info about the product in english!!**** Box I received jar in came with a pamphlet in English
****needs to be handwashed and hand doesn't fit*** Sponge brush for bottles can do the trick
****rubber ring got loose*** Same happened once with one of mine when I decided to soak it in a very hot water
So in conclusion if you are looking for a jar with very wide opening it's not it.
If you are looking for a container that keeps your soup scorching hot 7hrs later it's not it.
With all previously owned thermos containers for food none kept my food hot 5 hrs. Also have to consider surrounding temperature container being in. Colder weather/room/refrigerator will cause significant changes in temperature of the jar content.
