Topstone Flameless Remote Controlled LED Tea-Lights

As someone who likes a lovely de-stressing long soak at the end of a stressful work day there is one thing that is required and that is to have the bright main bathroom light switched off and candles used to create relaxing mood lighting. Real candles though do have their problems, they can be a fire hazard, they can blow out ( a real pain if you are in mid-soak) and they also give off an unpleasant smell. So I decided to give these flameless battery powered tea-lights that come with a remote control a try.

In the box you get 12 x  LED tea-light candles, an instruction leaflet and a remote control. Each candle measures 4cm in diameter with a height of 4cm including the fake flame and is powered by a small button cell battery. It states that a battery should power the candle for over 100 hours but as I've not used them for that long yet I can't verify that.

The small remote control has a range of up to 7.9 metres and because it is infra-red the candles have to be "in line of sight" to work. The candles themselves are plastic are made to look like a tea-light candle and have a fake rubbery plastic fake flame. To be honest I was at first disappointed with the obviously fake look of the flame but when switched on in a darkened room they look just fine to me especially the flickering effect. You can also use the remote control to set these candles on a 2, 4 or 8 hour timer which will lengthen the life of the batteries.

So far I am very happy with these tea-light LED candles and love the convenience of switching them all on with one press of a button compared ro having to light each "real" candle with a lighter before taking my bath.
