Lovely Piece, but the Chain needs improvement

This lovely pendant necklace is definitely going to be a cherished piece in my collection, and it was certainly affordable at only $16.99 on Amazon. The package arrived undamaged and the jewelry box was safely secured within a larger bag. There was no damage to the shipping bag or to the product at the time of arrival. I spoke with the seller about this product prior to ordering, and she was very helpful and polite.

This necklace is very lovely although it does seem smaller in person than it appears in the advertisements. The Created-Amethyst is in a square cut that shines nicely and catches the light with relative ease. The stone is lightly cupped by the surrounding 925 sterling silver which accents the purple stone with an easy shine. There are three smaller stones below the amethyst to the right and another three smaller stones above the amethyst to the left. The chain is a bit over 17 inches long and does appear cheap and easily breakable. It is a bit shorter than I tend to use for my chains, but it works nicely with the pendant and would be easy enough to add an extender to. The pendant comes on and off of the chain easily, if you would prefer to replace it with a longer chain entirely. I will likely replace it with an actual sterling silver chain which I believe would pair better with the pendant.

The pendant arrived ready for use with the chain included. The clasp on the chain was undamaged and simple to use. The pendant appears a bit larger in the picture on the amazon listing than in real life, but the image is otherwise accurate and that could just be based on the size of the person wearing it as she was much thinner than I. With the sterling silver setting, this necklace would make a great accessory for many types of outfits. For casual wear, it would pair nicely with a silver or gray blouse or t-shirt. It would look nice with purple dresses or silver dresses as well. It could also pair nicely with dark red to create a contrast that would be striking.

This necklace would make a great gift for a February birthday or for any girl who is fond of purple. It is fancy enough to pair with formal attire while still fitting in nicely for a casual day at the office or an evening out with your friends. Overall, the small size is a bit sad but otherwise it is a pretty, small pendant. I would give this product a 4 out of 5 stars. If the chain was a bit nicer, it very well could have earned 5 stars.
