If you read my blog or follow me on social media you know I like to draw and craft. I am a keeper of many hobbies and I bounce from one to the next when the mood strikes. I have always wanted a light box. I actually used to make my own by putting a piece of glass on top of two stacks of books and putting a lamp underneath. But now, thanks to Huion, I have my very own light box and I’m super happy with it.
This particular model is available for $39.99 but they have more advanced models that are larger and have different features. Seeing as how I’m not a professional, the ~14’’ x 10’’ size is perfect for me. It fits inside my backpack perfectly!
Not only did I get to try out the light box, but Huion even threw in a stand and a clip to help keep the papers I’m using from falling down when the box is elevated. The box doesn’t have its own power, but you simply plug it into any USB port and you’re good to go. The light is adjustable and it is bright enough that I can use sketch paper, not just tracing paper.
I really like how thin the light box is too. This makes it comfortable to trace on and with the angle from the stand, it’s a joy to use. My brother is a tattoo artist and has a very similar one that he uses in his shop so the possibilities are endless as to what you can create.
