A different way to play games on your phone

My husband and my boys play a lot of games on their phones, so I thought maybe this little device might be something they enjoyed. My son has used it a few times since getting it but seems to have gone back to just using his fingers instead now, so I am not sure how good it really is.   The device is a little contraption that you place on your cell phone screen to provide you with the option of using a moving button. It has a plastic ring that the button sits in and it rotates around in any direction you move it. The button does not come out, being one solid piece. There is no need for tools or any need for knowledge of how to put it together, so it is plug and play. Just take it from the packaging and put it on your phone.   You DO need a screen protector on your phone becuase it won't stick to the glass without falling off. But if you have something on your phone, it does stay in place. It is easy to move across your screen though, so you can easily reposition it without having to pull it off and break the connection.   As for effectiveness? I can't say personally, since I don't play games on my phone generally, but I did notice it was moving my icons around when I put it on my phone and messed with the toggle button. From my son, though, he reports it does work and makes gaming easier, but is not as fast and responsive as his fingers. He said when he was in certain play situations, he found himself encumbered by the button. He said it got in the way on the screen a few times and he couldn't move it fast enough to keep playing. He also said it takes some getting used to and learning how it can control the game play, but that it did work with no need to install software or adjust connections or settings.   He said he may continue using it, but not all the time - it all depends upon what game he is playing. He is highly competitive and feels it hasn't upped his game any like he had hoped it would.   Would he recommend it to others? He wasn't sure.  He enjoys having something new to use and the control it has, but isn't entirely happy with it. His rating for the device is a 3 star, so I think that tells you his overall thoughts on it.
