Wow my hands are weak!

When I was in 8th grade, I fell and broke my hand while roller skating. The break was in my hand itself, not the wrist. It had to be rebroken after a few weeks because it had grown back wrong and had to be re-set differently. As a result, I have horrible arthritis in that hand and have less strength in it. This is something I was hoping might help me to regain some of the strength, build up some extra muscle, and relieve the arthritis I am plagued with when the weather changes.

There are three silicone devices in the box, each being a different color. It is pretty self explanatory how to use them. They fit over your fingers and then you stretch your hands out, spreading your fingers and pushing against the band. I found you can turn your arm while doing it to exercise different muscle groups, too. There are various ways to adjust things and target more muscles. I experimented on my own and found what worked. You will find that your hands are strengthened, but depending upon how you use them and how often, you can also strengthen you forearms and other muscles.

What I DID find interesting was that the three different colors are all different levels of strength. There is one color with the least resistance, one mid, and one with the most. You can start with the lowest level and work your way up to the highest as you feel ready to progress.

As for how well they are helping with my arthritis, I can't say yet. Typically I don't experience pain and aching unless the weather is changing and a storm is coming in. At the time of this writing, we are just finishing summer and moving toward fall, so have yet to hit our rainy season. I haven't experienced any adverse weather to cause my arthritis to act up. But I am hoping that once the weather does change, the amount of work I am doing now will help me to ease in to the rainy season with less aches and pains!
