The light is nice, you can have it white or cycle through colours depending on room. The speaker is fine, it is not that loud, the loudness is similar to many clock radios - loud enough for a bedroom for a kid listening to some music or maybe for an audiobook at bedtime. It is not a party speaker though. The unit itself looks quite elegant. I'd recommend this for a kid's bedroom.
