Well, I can confirm that I have bought this item and it works. Very simple to use, with no instructions you can work it out (there is only one button). Switch it on and wait for a minute, then get the top edge of the bag to sit in the mouth of the sucker, close the lid and secure it with the clips and press the button. As you would expect it will suck the air out and when it's got a good vacuum it pulls the lid down which then seals the bag. Worked every time for me. It's made of plastic but as long as you show some mechanical sympathy I don't think you'll break it. When you are putting your food in the bag it's important to keep the part where the seal is going to be dry (on the inside and outside of the bag) to enable a good seal (same with all vac sealers) so dry your hands, fold down the top of the bag a few inches, then put the food in the bag, dry your hands again, then roll the top back up and put it in the machine
