I've recently bought handheld lantern for my bug out bag and loved it. So I decided to get similar ones for home for kids to use when the lights are out. I normally use candles but kids feel safer having something in their hand so I give them flashlights. The problem with those is that they never miss to shine those darn flashlights in my fusbands eyes and the issue with him is that he gets bad migraines when something bright like light or ray of son shines in his face. So I thought these should work just fine and kids will not be scolded for being kids lol
To my surprise this lantern was not as bright as the one I got for my bug out bag but it actually is better and works better for me again for my husbands sake. Flushlight feature even less bright but I don't fuss about it. I certainly wouldn't use for outdoors as it's not very bright but for home and kids using them I think they are just perfect. Now I have a lantern in each room and easily accessible for kids to grab just incase power goes off. Oldest already knows the drill and where to run and grab it. She said it doesn't make her be scared of darkness when she has one in her hand.
Kids happy and so am I
