ONLY 720P and VGA.! NOT THE RIGHT ITEM

The Portable LCD Digital Microscope, WACCIU 4.3 inch 1000X Magnification Zoom HD 1080P, Adjustable LED Light Camera Video Recorder for Inspection and observation, Jewelry Identification and Circuit Maintenance is not really what it says it is. I expected 1080P, HD, and more and it’s not that at all. It’s a much lower 720p and offers only VGA. There’s no high def anything. That being said this microscope is extremely hard to put together. The instructions are not clear or easy to understand; they are very basic.

This microscope was hard to assemble. I had to go back and look at the listing to figure out what it is supposed to look like. The components are plastic and I felt like I could easily have snapped this while trying to put it together. Once charged I fired it up. I was impressed with the screen. The knobs and most of the components are plastic, but they are functional.
I was unable to test all of the components that required a memory card. You are able to move the entire unit up and down and you’re able to adjust the sensitivity of what you’re looking at with good accuracy. It is not hard to find and make what you’re looking at clear.

Connecting it to the computer was somewhat more straightforward. I plugged it into the computer and fired up the CD that it comes with. It opened up a file with two things in it. A PDF with instructions and the actual software. The PDF did an ok job at walking you though how to view, take videos, and take pictures. The images were grainier than I expected but I assume it was because it was in 720P. 

The battery life seems short. I had it on for about 15 minutes and one bar was already gone.

I really like that you can run this by itself using its own screen or hook it up to the computer. It would be so much fun to take it out in the field and use it vs. using it in the house.

Overall, since it is the wrong item, I can’t say I would recommend it. When I scan the barcode, this item it’s supposed to be comes up on amazon, the 1080P, higher quality version, so it must be labeled wrong in the amazon warehouse. 

If we ignore that it is the wrong item and I was expecting a lower quality viewing I still don’t think I would pay $50+ for it. The components are cheap, the instructions are terrible, but it does work, it does magnify, and it is able to take video and pictures. 

Bottom line: it’s the wrong item; therefore, I would not recommend it.
