Part of my garden did very well last year and part of it didn't. I am not sure why. With this Veroyi ST02 Soil Meter I am in hopes that next years crop with thrive and yield a super crop. This can test the PH balance, the H20 moisture in the soil and the amount of light the plants get each day. After testing the soil with this meter we discovered that the soil PH levels were low and that we needed to add lime to increase the pH of acidic soil. It wasn't really bad but could use a dose of long-acting lime. Another problem we found is that several rows of the garden also didn't get as many hours of sunlight that the plants needed to grow the best. With this new information, I have decided to extend the garden so it gets better sunlight on the East side and plant lettuce which does better in shade in the other area of the garden. With the help of this soil tester, I now have a plan on how to manage my garden by adding lime this fall and tilling it in with the fertilizer for next years planting and to extend and rearrange my garden.
How to use this is very simple. Just stick the rods into the soil 4" or 5" inches and watch for the meter needle to move. Turn the switch to PH, Moist or Light. whichever you are testing for then wait 10 minutes for an accurate reading. Do this in several spots of your garden. It doesn't need power such as batteries or electricity which is great. This is one handy tool for any gardener.
