Big Flask

This is a big, chunky flask. It’s certainly too big for my hands to hold easily - it’s more of a stick-it-in-your-rucksack flask than a hold-it-in-your-hand one. The lid of the flask has a ring and a spring-type ‘carabiner’ to hitch the flask to something, but personally, I wouldn’t trust it - the spring on the ‘carabiner’ doesn’t seem stiff enough to stand up to a swinging 1kg+ weight (which is what this flask is, of course, when full).

Note that this flask does not come with an integral cup.

It’s very smart - the coated finish is slightly textured which makes it a bit more grippy, and gives it (to my mind) a slightly industrial-chic look (though what do I know?).

I tested this with boiling water; boiling water put into the flask with the lid well screwed down was still hot 12 hours later. Not boiling (which you wouldn’t expect) but too hot to touch comfortably. Certainly hot enough to be a welcome drink on a cold day.

Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to test it properly with cold drinks as the mouth of the flask is too small for my ice cubes to go in. So if you want to put iced water in this, get small ice cubes - or crush your ice cubes first.

All in all, a very nice 1 litre flask for those long winter walks.
