This make-up brush set was a great find for an even better price. I was in desperate need of a new brush set, as my set was several years old and a few cleanings away from death. At $16.99, you get 12 different make up tools and a carrying case. The packaging was fairly standard for Amazon packaging, but nothing was damaging or concerning. The carrying case is a pink fabric that rolls up and has a tie that allows you to keep the case shut. Each of the brushes appears to be fairly sturdy and well designed. The set did not have any broken brushes in it, which was a nice surprise considering I bought them from the internet without being able to ensure they were in good condition first.
Once I opened each brush and removed the plastic covering from the bristles, I was pleased to see each of the tips were soft and without any of the broken or fraying pieces that you sometimes see in the cheaper brush sets. The handles looked well-built and sturdy; each one is a pale pink color that nicely matches the carrying case. Even the smaller brushes are thick enough to grip easily, but none of them are thick enough to be cumbersome in your hands while you are trying to apply your make-up. The bristles are a light tan with a darker brown on the tips on each of the actual brushes. The set contains a blush brush, a contouring repair brush, two eyeshadow brushes, an eyebrow brush, and a round head contour brush. It also contains a eyebrow color brush, an eyeliner brush, a lip brush, a sponge brush, an eyelash roll, and a duel use comb. Basically, almost any brush you could need for standard make-up application.
The handles appear to be made from wood instead of plastic, which was a nice touch and gives them sturdy feel that makes me believe that with proper care these brushes should have great longevity. I have applied make-up with these brushes twice now, and they are well balanced and create a smooth appearance with the make-up I use. I was easily able to brush my powder and smooth it on and even my cream concealer went on smoothly without the brush bunching up like so many of them do.
The only real drawback that I have found so far is that the carrying case itself appears to be made from a fairly cheap material and I suspect that it could be damaged easily. That said, as my primary concern was the brushes, I am definitely still impressed.
