They have worked well in iced teas, sodas and water. While I have not yet tried them in milkshakes, I expect they do very well as they did not collapse inward under my tests for strong suction. They fit back into their cases easily,There’s not really any specific con to this particular straw that doesn't come with any other reusable straw. You’re going to have to clean it, and of course remember to use it and not leave it behind. Overall, a very good alternate to disposable.
