Many years ago I put up glow in the dark sticker stars all over my bedroom. I loved how they looked at night after turning the lights off. Each star was super small and looked very cool, creating a nighttime glow in the dark environment that was comfortable and soothing to look at. I have tried to find these sticker stars again since, but with no luck. Instead I have used the plastic stick on stars like these to recreate that look in the kids' bedrooms. I didn't have any plastic glow in the dark stars to decorate the baby's room, but wanted some so that I could add some glowing decoration in there for night time. We have night lights, but I wanted more, so picked up this set.
These are smaller than some of the other sets I have used in the past. I like the smaller stars. I am hoping these will not fall off of the walls the way the others have. I always had stars falling off haphazardly, and my younger son says they would fall on him in the middle of the night. Those star sets always used the tacky stick up stuff that you take a small ball of and mush on the back then stick to the wall. Once it dried, the sticky would let loose. These have adhesive stickers, similar to the 3M tape, which so far I have not had trouble with when sticking other things up on the walls, so I have higher hopes these will stay put.
You get 200 stars in this set. That is a lot of stars! You don't even realize how many stars it is until you see them all laid out before you on the table! Plus you get all of the little stickers for them that are very small (not even a centimeter in size). I did have a lot of the stickies come free and stick to the inside of the bag, so I am not sure if I can reuse them or risk losing the stickiness. But I have a lot of 3M tape that I can cut down smaller to replace them.
The thing I love about this set, other than the fact it is put up using stickers instead of gunk, is that they are all different colors. You get a lot of colored stars to put up rather than one solid color that glows a yellowish color. This set has pinks, yellows, blues, and greens in it. You see the stars during the day, just as they are with no need for light. At night they glow in the color they are - pinks, greens, blues...
And don't let the image on Amazon listing fool you. It makes the stars look VERY large next to the baby crib. I think they may have use clip art to add the stars to their nursery picture instead of using the product like they should have. But there are some customer images in the reviews to show you what they look like up close and on the walls.
I am impressed with how quickly they absorb light and how bright they glow. They do not glow so bright that you will be kept awake at night or won't need night lights. But they do add a nice glow on the walls and stand out against the paint. I love that I can turn the light on and leave it on a few minutes, then turn the lights off and see the stars glowing. It takes very little time to charge them up. During the day, they absorb the natural light through the window, too.
I am happy with this set of stars and think they are easy to put up and keep up. We will see how long the stickers last to hold them up, but so far so good! I would have no trouble buying this set of stars again if I wanted to add more to another room. For now, they are perfect for the baby's nursery and add a nice touch to the room's look and feel.
