I just used this cake stand a few weeks ago for my daughter's birthday party and loved it! I had made her a cake this year and wanted to display it on something nice that would show off its design and this was perfect.
It has a soft delicate look with it being a lavender color and could be used for formal or non-formal events in my opinion. I know it is listed as a cake decorating supply and yes this would be perfect for putting your cake on to ice because of the turning motion it would make it so easy to work with. It also will stand stationery if you are wanting to display your cake without it moving around.
It is easy to clean, it comes apart easy and is lightweight so if you are wanting to store it on other items you will not have any worries about it breaking anything. It also comes with a flower making kit as well. This is a nice little set to have and I am sure you will love the rotating cake stand. Lavandin has put out a very nice product.
