Plays great, controlling lights not so great

We have picked up our fair share of bluetooth speakers over the past few years, and this was one of 4 new ones I got all around the same time. Some have been better than others, while some have absolutely blown us away with their power and sound. I wasn't sure what to expect with this, but was hoping for a new good speaker to use outdoors during our summer events and fun since I have given away so many from our collection. Having teenagers, music is now a part of our every day life, and using bluetooth connections makes it easier for them to get their music fix. Plus this is a light, so I thought it would be good for camping or evenings outdoors.

Since getting this, we have experimented with pairing it up to various phones, each time having no trouble with the connections. You don't have to disconnect a device before adding another. It simply picks up the device and uses it. We did NOT try having music playing on it when someone else pairs to it, though, so I am not sure what would happen if the 2nd person tried to start a new playlist. Regardless of that, there is a power button on the side of the speaker to turn it on and off. There are no buttons to push to pair it up or control the volume. You do it all from your phone. Simply turn it on and scan with your device you wish to connect with, then select it from the list of options you see.    I was a bit disappointed at the volume on this, though. It works great if you want a small player that allows you to listen from your desk or bedroom, but it is not very loud. It won't work for us while the kids are swimming, and they often like to play music while doing chores like dishes or cleaning their room. It is not loud enough to be heard clearly over the water of the sink, but does work for cleaning their room. Even adjusting the volume from our phones didn't make it loud enough. It WOULD be good for background music while you are sitting outside chatting and enjoying the weather. And the light is a great bonus for nights outdoors.
 

The speaker is also a nightlight, or a lantern. It is touch controlled so you simply touch the top and it will turn on, adjust the lighting, and turn off. I had a horrible time getting the colors to change. I could turn on the white light no problem and adjust it, but wasn't able to adjust the color very easily. I did it a few times, though.

While it is a decent bluetooth speaker for smaller rooms and personal use, it is not something you will be able to use outdoors or with other noisy conditions. It was definitely easy to pair and use, but not as powerful as we would like and the lights are great.
