I bought this to smooth my dogs nails after clipping. It does exactly this job but not enough to trim the nails without clipping. My dog is alright with clipping but not so comfortable with this grinder maybe due to the vibration. Also it makes a burning smell that freaks me out a little bit. Overall a good complement to the nail clipping.
