cleanning sponges

These cleaning sponges from Weform came in a package of 50. The sponges can be cut to whatever size you require for the task you are doing with it. Each sponge is about four inches long, two and a half inches wide and half of an inch thick. There was quite a bit of difference in the sizes and cuts of the sponges in the set. None of them were really uniform and some of them were much larger on one end than they were on the other end. Some of them were very thick and some of them were very thin. I originally thought that this was due to the way that they were packaged for shipping but upon closer inspection, I realized that it was a quality control issue when these sponges were manufactured.  

When you purchase these sponges, do not expect them to be as good as the big-name brand Magic Erasers. While they do a fairly decent job of removing dirt, they do fall apart very quickly while using them and would leave “crumbs” on the surfaces that I was cleaning, I use cellulose sponges to clean my daughter’s shoes and for household cleaning tasks frequently, so I was looking for a more affordable option. After cleaning a pair of my daughter’s shoes, this sponge had basically disintegrated. I made sure to keep it properly moistened but the sponge just didn’t last very long. At this rate, I would be using three times as many of these sponges than I would use of my regular brand so there is really no savings as opposed to just purchasing the better brand.

I gave the remaining sponges to my daughter to use for her craft projects and she cut some of them to use for paint stamps.  I definitely would not purchase these cleaning sponges again and I would not recommend them to others.
