I bought this to teach my daughter how to properly brush and floss her teeth on her own. We used playdough to simulate food particles and germs that get stuck in her teeth. She then used a brush and flosser pick to “clean” the teeth. It helps her become more independent and lets me be confident that she has proper oral health care. I also wanted this so that we could use it during our homeschool studies. We are learning about the human body so this teaching tool will be used to help her learn about the mouth and teeth. She can learn the proper names and locations of the teeth. It will also help her to see the differences in the types of teeth and their functions.
The teaching tool is about 3 inches wide and 1 1/2 inches tall. It is about 5 ½ inches long when opened. It has a strong hinge so it can be opened fully. The casing is made of very hard plastic so it is really durable so I don’t have to worry about her breaking it while handling it. The teeth are made of hard plastic and the gums are made of soft rubber. This set is exactly like the set that her dentist has in her office so she is excited to show her dentist how much she has learned on her next visit.
