We started using ground salt and pepper awhile back, but never had a specific set and would instead purchase disposable ones. Since I have been upgrading a lot of things in our kitchen, I decided to go ahead and get these when I had the chance. They are very nice looking and feel good in your hand. The outside coating seems to have almost a non-slip type of feeling, but it doesn't at all detract from the look of these grinders. What is really nice about these is, once you put in the batteries, flipping them upside down immediately makes them start to grind your chosen seasonings (since we already had a pink Himalayan salt grinder, I went with just a basic sea salt and black peppercorn for these grinders, but there are a few options for both). While the grinding isn’t completely consistent size wise, I didn’t have any large chunks coming through unground, so I am happy with the way that they perform. Filling them was a bit annoying, but only because some chunks needed to be pushed to fit (this could have been about my choice in seasonings), but nothing too major. The only issue that I did have with these was that, even though they are large, they don’t hold very much seasoning (this is due to the size of the batteries, which take up a large portion of the shaft). There is a clear section in the grinders though that helps to determine when you are getting low and need to refill them, so that is helpful. Also, the free garlic roller was a nice bonus.
