very good investment

I bought these shorts because I was on a quest to find quality clothing items at a reasonable cost. These shorts certainly deliver. The material is light weight, stretches, and dries quickly. Zippers are durable and operate smoothly and will keep important items like keys and money right where they need to be. These are perfect for hiking or any outdoor activity.

Compared to Columbia, Mountain Hardware, etc I think these stand up well in terms of performance. They may not carry the same brand recognition but at 1/4 the cost I think they are a better option for someone on a budget.

Though I gave it five stars, because I like these enough to buy more, I do have a couple things that would make these a 6-star rating. First, I appreciate a draw string and elastic waistband as much as anyone, but these would look really nice with a button and a zipper fly. I mean, like as dressy as any pair of shorts could look. The fabric looks crisp and resists wrinkling, so they pass the test in that regard. I just feel weird being out with my wife, on a date, in a pair of drawstring anything. Maybe that is my own personal hang up.
