great kitchen or craft accessory

This is not a vacuum sealer. It only seals the bag but does not have the ability to remove any air from the packaging being sealed. I knew this before purchasing it but based on the reviews some customers may not have known this. Be aware that if you need that feature, this is not the item for you. This bag sealer is compact and measures 6.9 x 2.6 x 0.7inches. I like that it comes with a plastic latching clear storage case so I can keep it protected while not in use. I also like the textured stay-cool tips on the end of the sealer that prevents me from burning my fingers while I am holding the sealer closed. It heats up in a matter of seconds and seals just as quickly. The metal plates are easy to wipe clean and so far, nothing has stuck to it while using it. It has a red indicator light to let you know that it is working and an on/off switch. I thought that the location of the power switch behind the metal plates was odd and was worried that I may burn myself trying to turn it on or off, but I haven’t done that so far. I usually just unplug it and then flip the switch off after it cools down.

I purchased this bag sealer because I wanted to use it to make the crimped edge on homemade chip, snack and cookie bags for my husband and daughter’s lunchboxes. It works great for that use. I also use it to seal up cereal, crackers, pancake mix, etc. It does a great job of resealing the bags so the food will stay fresh. It is a bit small so I usually have to seal the bag and then flip it around to seal the other side. This is a great kitchen and craft accessory.
