I use it at work with my Surface Pro 3. I have connected a keyboard, a mouseand the LAN cable. The transfer rate via USB hubs is extremely fast aswell as the lan connection (download speed 18 MB/s without any problem). The cable is long enough to have the Hub on the table. And if you have connected a keyboard and a mouse you still have one free USB port that you can use for everything else. I use it usually for charging my phone.
