Great starter set for my son

    My oldest is about to go in to high school and has a huge desire to play baseball his entire four years there. His junior high school does not have any teams, unlike elementary school where they offered outside agencies to come in and do sports with the kids. So he has been at a serious disadvantage for the past two years. Because of this we have had to put him in to a league in our area and get his some time in that way, but he wants to add in weight training and fitness routines for the summer months to get him ready for tryouts next year. He has been begging for a gym membership to do this and plans to take classes for PE at school, so I thought I should probably get him a good set of gym gloves that will provide him with the support he needs. This is the set we are starting with.   The set is very strong and appears to be well made. Of course, I do not know much about weight lifting gloves, so have no point of reference to base my belief off of. They are made of palm leather and feel as good as they look. I was impressed with the feeling of them when I tried them on. They wrap around my hands perfectly (my son and I have the same size hands right now, so I know that anything fitting my hands will fit his) and feel soft and buttery, yet strong and supportive. There are super long wrist wraps that you can wind around your wrists and then velcro in to place, making them super strong and supportive. I was able to easily move my hands and grip things, while having the support and rigidity of the wraps on my wrists to aide me in picking things up easier.   The fingers have webbing between them, so you can rest assured that the gloves are only leather in the places you need the support, movable in the places they are needing stretching. I didn't have any discomfort with the stitching where the webbing was sewn in to the leather. Of course, I haven't lifted weights with it, either, so can't say for sure if there may be any discomfort with them. But for my hands, the size and shape, and the fit they have on me, I am thinking they seem comfortable enough to work with.   I was worried to have leather gloves, unsure how to keep them for looking and smelling nasty. I wasn't sure how it would work for cleaning. But you CAN wash them by hand to keep them clean and ready for use. Rub soap on to them, rub it is, rinse it off. You can soak them, but keep in mind leather dries out easily, and nevver use hot water, bleach, or other harsh acidic cleansers. Never put them in the sun to dry as they will dry and crack.    These seem like a decent pair of gloves and my son is all the more eager to get in to the gym now and start learning how to use the weights.
