I bought this food thermometer as my old one packed up and doing a lot of cooking really missed it .

I decided to go for this one , it looks really smart on my work top and a very handy gadget , i can clip the reader on my belt and take the actual prong to the oven , it has a wire on but i found i could still shut my oven door , it is a newer model . 

the prong send the reading to the base which is clipped on my jeans so i can read it , it beeps to let you its the temp or above , you can set to different meats and rare , medium or well done . this needs 2 batteries in base and two in reader so 4 x AAA's altogether
