A solid unit, the Weeola reliably produces sturdy vacuum bags in very little time. Supplied with 10 pieces as a starter supply, the unit works intuitively and creates a tight seal, assuming you follow the directions. My only mess was created when I forgot to apply the “moist” setting for s bag of stew, and the liquid was sucked up creating a pool of brown meat in the unit. It would be nice if the unit could separate the top pice from bottom and be rinsed off, but paper towels and vinegar took care of it.
This unit creates vacuum bags of any size and is also suitable for plastic vacuum containers, but is not supplied with the necessary tubing. That I obtained on my own and the storage compartment on the bottom of the unit was adequate size for it. The compartment is intended for the power cord, but it is very snug and I found it easier to keep the cord tied up behind the unit.
Once used to the vacuum sealer, it’s easy to see the benefit of sealing pretty much every open box in my pantry and leftovers last much longer with this method.
My only issue with this unit is the noise. The loud rumble is a little startling, maybe in the future they will find a way to quiet it down.
It’s not often you find a new tool that’s better it’s hype. Most new gadgets are stowed away after a month or so, never to be used again, but I think this item will have a long life on top of my counter. Even without sous vide cooking, this makes a significant improvement in food storage.
