This travel pillow looks more like a vest than a pillow. It looks a little too bulky for my taste. It does help to keep my spine in proper alignment while reading. However, because I cannot sit too long it does not really work for what I was hoping to accomplish.
It is designed with a one-way valve. And had to be inflated before use. I had to use a small hand-held pump to inflate the pillow which became too exhausting due to my health issue. I had hoped it was designed to inflate automatically.
The travel pillow can be carried while inflated or it can be deflated and carried in the small bag that the cushion came in. I like the idea of the head rest. It can be carried easily in a travel purse or bag if I decide to travel by airplane or train which is not going to happen soon.
The issue I have is with material covering the travel pillow it itches. The itching was terrible. It felt as if I was being stung by bees without the welts of course. I decided to wash the pillow with mild soapy water and a damp cloth and let it air dry the first time. The second time I try using the pillow I had the same result but my skin reaction was less. I still have to take some Benadryl to lessen the itchiness. I again had to wash it with mild soap and a damp towel and spray it with Febreze and let it dry overnight. This seemed to have worked better.
So I am taking one point for the inconvenience and the discontent I felt due to the itching episodes. I guess, despite my misgivings and due to a faulty start, I will not be all negative on the subject. Someone else may have had a better beginning with the travel bag material than I did so I understand if no one understands my dilemma.
