I’m trying to fancy up some simple balsa wood cutouts and turn them into jewelry brooches. I’ve tried painting them with metallic acrylic paint but it always comes out flat or too opaque without doing layers of colors. So now I’m trying to silver leaf these pieces and see what that looks like. For my first project I got these small 5.5” sheets of silver (imitation) leafing foil. I sprayed e6000 glue down and quickly put the sheet down on top after a moment, then started tapping down with a soft paintbrush like I’ve seen Adam Savage do with a cosplay project recently. I had to go back over some areas with more glue and more foil, but it stuck pretty great. I just need to clean up the edges on this first piece, seal it, and attach a pin back and it’ll done :D
