I don't recall going through as many phone cases in the past as I have the past few years. Granted, I DO tend to upgrade my phone a lot more now than I have in the past, so that could have something to do with it. It also doesn't help that I have been picking up some of the lower priced phone cases, too. I probably wouldn't need a new one as often as I do if I actually spent a bit more money on them in the first place. But when you spend as much as you do on a phone, buying the accessories is just a pain and financial burden I don't want to deal with. Needless to say, I was needing a new phone case. AGAIN. And I decided to get something that is a little different than my norm. I got this one.
I absolultely love the color of it. I love the shade of teal with the darker contrast. It is teal and gray, coming with a black belt clip that you can use to attach it to your belt. Of course, I don't wear a belt, so having a belt clip doesn't do me any good. I could always clip it on to my purse, but don't think I really need to do that.
Regardless, I snapped it on to my case after fighting to pull it apart. It took some work to get the parts seperated to put it on my phone. It took some work to snap it out of the belt clip first, then I struggled to get between the teal outer cover and the dark gray inner lining. But once I got it, I had no trouble putting it all back together on my phone. I did feel that my phone felt awful long though.... It seemed to be a lot taller and slimmer than before. I think my old portfolio case squared it all out more, making it feel blocky and uniform in size. But this made it feel a lot slimmer overall, and definitely a lot taller. It took some getting used to!
I also had to get used to the buttons on the sides. My other case has cut out openings that allow me access to the buttons themselves. But this case has plastic buttons covering the phone's buttons that you push the same as the regular ones. I had a hard time getting used to that, but my husband said his phone case is the same way. The thing I have had the hardest time with adjusting to is the cover over the charging port. I am so used to being able to just plug my phone in and that's it. And that is not possible with this case. I have to physically open the cover on the bottom and plug in, and often the plug gets caught on the edge and it is a struggle to plug in the cable. But I am able to get it to plug in and it works fine for me when I do get it.
The biggest thing I am missing from my old case, besides having a wrist strap to hold on to my phone in sketchy situations, is the credit card slots. I got in the habit of having my atm card in my phone case, since my phone is with me ALL the time. I loved having it right there where I didn't have to go hunting for my purse to get my card when I needed it. It made things convenient at the store because I could just grab my card from my phone where I had it after finishing with my grocery list that is on my phone, too. I can't do that with this case, though. I have no where to put my card, which is sad to me because it was so convenient and made life so much simpler for me. But I can deal with it.
It is a great case and does a great job to protect the phone. I am mostly happy with it. I just miss some of the things from before with my old case. But it was a great upgrade for me.
