There is nothing worse than having your fruits and veggies go bad on you before you get the chance to use them. I don't keep my fruits in the fridge, unless it is berries or melons. But all my veggies are refrigerated, and therefore the most at risk for turning before I use them.
I had no clue how to keep my veggies fresh, other than the various containers I have tried that are SUPPOSED to do that but haven't really made much difference. When I saw these liners I thought why not give them a try? We shall see how well they work over the next month or so.
When this arrived in the mail I looked at them and thought, "That's it? That's just foam!" But it is not just foam. They are porous, allowing air to move through and around them. They are each 15 x 13.5 x 0.3 inches. You get four liners in the package and can cut them to fit your drawers or containers.
I cleaned out the bottom drawer in my refrigerator and then cut one of these sheets to fit inside of it. It is an odd shape, being the bottom drawer, so I definitely had to cut it to fit. Being thin, it cuts quickly and easily.
And regardless of whether it works to keep my veggies fresh longer, I plan to keep these in. I love the look of shelf liners in my drawers and on my cabinet shelves, so am thrilled to have something to put in the bottom of my drawers in the fridge. To me it just looks cleaner and more cared for.
