Easy to Use Digital Food Thermometer

This food thermometer works very nicely. It was well packaged with a back that briefly described its functions and how it worked. There was no damage to the package or the product when it arrived, which is always a relief. The prong on the thermometer is a good length. Even for thicker cuts of meat, you should be able to get to the center without any problem. It is also just sharp enough to go in easily and strong enough to push into the meat without any real problems, such as warping or getting stuck part way through. All in all, it is an affordable meat thermometer at $9.99 that does not appear to be poorly designed although it does appear cheap. It is small enough to carry around easily and turns off automatically when you are not using it for a short period of time. I will say that the digital reading part of the device could have been a bit less bulky to make it easier to maneuver within the oven.

I have tested this on a few different food products, as opposed to just using it to gauge the internal temperature of cooking meat. The first thing I tested this thermometer on was brownies. I knew that once I used it on meat, I would likely limit it to that purpose as I don’t want to take any risks even though I will clean it thoroughly between uses. When I was making the brownies, I decided to take the internal temperature to ensure that the product was working properly. The digital thermometer is great, because you do not have to guess where exactly the thermometer quite moving. With meats especially, that is important because sometimes you need a very precise internal temperature for the recipe that you are making. The digital read out was clear and easy to read. It took about 4 seconds to give me a temperature once I set it to work. I also tested this on a cut of beef. The reading seemed to take a bit longer, I counted 5 seconds, but it was otherwise just as clear and easy to read. In addition, the length of the prong makes it easy to get the reading without risking burning your hands trying to get the thermometer into the center of the meat.

Overall, I really like this product and fully intend to replace our old manual meat thermometer with this. You can set it to Celsius or Fahrenheit, depending on your own preference. I may keep the manual for a rainy day though, since you never know what is going to happen. I will say that I’ve only had the product for a few days, so I cannot attest to battery life or how long it will run so efficiently. For now though, it is a solid 4 out a 5 stars.
