Coconut oil has always been miraculous for…well, pretty much anything and everything. It is also miraculous in this hair mask. My hair is always frizzy and dry in the winter and so far I have found nothing that tames the frizz. This mask did the job. My hair has literally never been this smooth after it’s been washed unless I’ve just gotten a cut and style from the best hair stylist (shoutout to Beth Caldwell Hair).
I didn’t exactly follow the directions which are to generously apply to towel dried hair for 10-15 minutes and then rinse. I washed my hair (with the Calily Life Tea Tree shampoo and conditioner which will be reviewed in another post) and then towel dried (as it said). I applied it generously and evenly and then stuck a shower cap on my head and got out of the tub and quickly ran a dryer on low over it for a few seconds. This sets in the oils so they work better. Then I got back in the tub and relaxed until the time was up and rinsed it out first with warm water and then finished it off with COLD. As cold as I could stand it. Then I dried it on a low heat setting and alternated between low heat and a blast of cool air. This made my hair SUPERRRRRRR shiny and soft. I don’t think my hair has ever looked this healthy with such minimal effort. I used this once in the beginning of the week on Monday and my hair was STILL clean today (on Friday!!!).
The mask itself is relatively thick which is to be expected because it is coconut oil, but it melts easily once it’s rubbed together between your hands before applying. It also smells really nice, which is a bonus. Assuming you like coconut, that is. The jar is also super large and it since it only takes a relatively small amount of mask (depending on how much hair you have), a little bit will go a long way and this mask will last a long time.
The best part about this mask it’s that it’s mostly made of all natural ingredients! So if you’re really sensitive to anything, this mask is great for you.
