I have always loved these canopies for a little girl's room and thought this would be the perfect addition to little missie's bedroom decor. I love the way they look and knew she would love having it hanging in there since she is a little diva princess.
I picked up both the pink and the white ones, not sure which one I wanted to use in her room. But I have opted for the pink one, since I am doing her room in pink and gold. She has gold dots all over her walls right now and I want to add a little embellishment with gold dots on strings around the top and hanging down inside, so that it matches. I have to get some gold paint and make something to hang still, but have the canopy hanging already and it looks absolutely adorable. I can't wait to get the embellishments made and hung up with it!
It was easy to put up. I thought my husband would have to help me, but got tired of waiting for him to not have other things going on or to be working, so decided to open it up and give it a go on my own. I was surprised at how easy it actually was to put up. The package comes with the canopy tent, a metal ring for inside the top, a large 3m pad to stick it to the ceiling, a thick plastic plate to put on the ceiling with a hook hanging from it. It also has two wall stud anchors and two screws to help anchor it and keep it in place in case the little ones pull on it.
I was able to open the metal ring up so that it popped in to shape, then turned the canopy inside out and tied the inner ties all around the ring. It held the top open perfectly once done and only took a few minutes to tie. I then got out our larger ladder, set it up in the baby's room, and climbed up to put the plastic piece on the ceiling. Be sure you add the hook in first because it won't be as easy if you do it after. I then stuck it on the ceiling. I didn't anchor it with the stud anchors or screws right now, though I may go back and do that after the baby pulls it down and the sticky gives way on the 3m tape. For now, the tape is solidly holding it up and it looks great!
I was then able to climb up and tie the canopy in to place and then drape it open around her doll's bed which sits next to her crib and toy basket. It looks absolutely adorable pulled open like that and adds a fairy-like, princess look to her bedroom. The material is still a bit wrinkled from being packaged (it is a linen material, so wrinkles easily), but once it is washed and hung it should be fine.
When I hung the white canopy up, I realized it was tied too high for it to hang down around her doll bed. But it would look great hanging around a bassinet or crib - until baby is old enough to pull on it.
I love how easy this was to hang and how great it looks! I can't wait to finish decorating in her room and let her start playing!
