So much fun!

  I cannot begin to tell you how much fun I had with this hair chalk set! I have always admired the colored hair that others have, but am married to a very conservative man who supports my crazy side, but doesn't necessarily like to see things like bright hair colors and funky piercings. I donned a gorgeous purple wig and darker makeup and he said it looked good, but was a Halloween look, not a mom look. So I don't go for the long term effects like what hair colors can give me. I decided to play around with these temporary hair chalk colors instead. And it was a blast!   I wasn't sure what to expect or how exactly to use them, so experimented. I found that when you use slightly damp hair, the color sticks to it better and doesn't leave your hair feeling as gunked up and hard after it dries. I also found the hair was easier to brush and blend with the rest of my hair.  I found that when you use it on dry hair the overall result is that you have hardened, almost crusty feeling hair that stays in whatever shape you leave it. My hair stuck out and was nearly impossible to get to lay flat, retaining an odd look and shape.   It is easy to use though. All you have to do is rub the chalk on your hair to transfer it from the chalk brush to your hair. It does work better when on damp hair, but works on either dry or damp. The hair does need to dry fully on its own before you attempt to style or brush it. Once dry, you can use a brush or comb to style your hair, as well as a curling iron or flat iron. The color does come off on your brush or flat iron though, but rinses clean from it easily after. I did not have flaking or discoloration on my clothing or shoulders after using it, though, even after brushing and styling, which was something I worried about.   And despite the yucky feel it had in my opinion, it blended nicely in my hair and didn't sem like it looked like it was gunky or nasty. I got many compliments on the colors and how vibrant they were. They did not have a glittery or metallic look after using it, though you could see the metallic glittery look before using them.   One of the things I was concerned with before using the colors was how bright it would be. I was afraid my hair would look dingy and ugly, that they colors would not stand out or look as great as the pictures on the Amazon listing. But my hair is light and the colors did turn out vibrant and full of color. I was impressed with how vibrant the colors came out on my blonde hair. And even after brushing much of it out and making my hair look softer and styled, the colors were not as bright but were still vibrant.   Another thing that worried me was how it would look after washing. I have used temporary hair colors around Halloween and the left over color residue stayed in my hair long after using it. I feared my hair would have a more permanent color tint to it even after I washed it. But I was thrilled to find my hair washed clean with little effort. It simply took one washing and there was no evidence of the temporary color remaining. I was very impressed with how easy it went it and came out.   If you are looking for a temporary color to add to your hair, this is a fun and easy way to add a little something. I had fun and was able to add a color splash to my hair that stayed in until I washed it and brought lots of compliments and comments from those who saw me.
