Smaller than Expected

  I do a lot of baking, especially around the holidays. When I do, I always wish I had some way to package some of my treats individually to give out rather than plopping them on a plate and putting a napkin over it. I saw these bags and thought they would be perfect for random gift giving.   But I am not sure what to think of these bags. They are not what I was expecting, or what it looks like on Amazon. When I looked at them on Amazon, the pictures show a cute spotted bag (which I got) with cookies in them. The cookies look like normal sized cookies, something that might be the width of your hand. I was also confused by the Amazon listing which called them both cellophane AND sheer organza. But I was able to clarify for myself what I would get since the description at the top of the listing talked about the kind of plastic they consisted of and that they were self-sealing plastic bags that would keep dust and such off of your treats. There was no mention of size in the description at the top, and the description further down the page only said 7*7. I assumed this meant 7" x 7", giving you plenty of room to put in a few cookies of reasonable size.   What I got was far smaller than 7 inches. They are 7 centimeters instead. I got out my ruler to measure and see and sure enough they are 7 inches across and 7 inches up to where the bag folds over for the self sticking part to close it. They don't open too wide, so your cookies better be fairly thin and flat. As for size, when I bake cookies they are at least 4-6 inches. I make decent sized cookies. These are only 7 centimeters so my cookies would never fit in these bags.   The bags are clear with white polka dots all over them. They are very thin and stick together, so it is hard to tell if you have one bag or two until you put something inside and try to fold the top over. I didn't try to poke a hole in any of them to see how sturdy and durable they are, but with how thin they feel, I worry about that. I do like the fact that they have the self sealing adhesive built in to it saving you from having to find stickers or tape to close them.   While I will NOT be using them for cookies and baked goods, I do see some value in them, though. I do think that anyone who makes candies, or wants to package candies in smaller bags to give for gifts would find these to be a perfect size. If you sell jewelry, these would be great earring or ring bags. If you have small items of any type that you sell, but don't have a nice bag to put them in, these would probably work. I know that when I was selling pet products, I often wanted to give out samples of some of the treats or a few bites of the food. I had cellophane bags already, so used the larger ones and tied them shut with ribbons, putting my business info inside with the contents instead of attaching in on the outside or keeping them seperate. I could have used small goodie bags like this which I could then have attached to my business information cards with double sided tape.    This is why I said I have mixed feelings about the bags. I am disappointed they are smaller than I thought they would be. The seller needs to fix that on their Amazon listing so that people know exactly what they are getting since the pictures are deceiving. But at the same time, I can see the value with using these bags for other things like jewelry or samples.
