I don’t wear a lot of makeup, so really have no need for a brush set like this. But my sister is a beautician and has been trying to buy up tools to work with, so I got a set like this for her for Christmas. I was impressed with the look and feel of the brushes and decided I needed a set for myself, though I don't know how much use it will really get with my limited makeup use. But I have been trying to use more makeup, experimenting with different kids, so I am sure it will be put to use!
I was impressed with the price, first off. It is a great deal (less than $15) and you get a good variety of brushes. Plus, they come in a nice case that helps you keep track of them, keep them organized, and keeps them ready for use. Plus I love the color!
The bristles on each brush are far softer and silkier feeling than the set I got my sister, and much softer than others I have bought in local stores. I love the silver color of the makeup bag, being one who loves sparkly things and wears silver accessories all the time. The handles are made of something unknown - the Amazon listing says they are made of durable, eco-friendly material (whatever that is), but designed in a way that makes them look and feel nice. Each brush is shaped differently, allowing you different ways to apply your make up. There are no chemical smells to the brushes, which is good for my needs.
When using them, I did notice a few bristles falling out, but I had my make up exactly where I wanted it to be. I have used brushes in the past where I ended up with makeup all over since it fell off as I was applying. Not so with these brushes. They hold fast to the makeup, especially the powders, and go exactly where you want it to go. They did a great job of everything I tried.
I am eager to get some new makeup to really put these to the test. Unfortunately, I don't have many opportunities to wear makeup, being a stay at home, work at home mom. I do all of my communications online and through phone, rarely having actual face to face meetings with clients. But I do work with student teachers and spend time supervising in their classrooms, so do my hair and make up on those days.
