nice for a backpack scope

I don't have a ton of room for a full-sized telescope, so finding a smaller version, that still has spotting capabilities was the priority. 

This is small, comes packaged in a backpack, and is pretty light-weight. 

The cons: Because it is light-weight and small, it doesn't feel sturdy. I'm worried about breaking the knobs, or that adding to much pressure and cracking something. Movements are jerky even with the control knobs loose, so it can be hard to hone in on what you're trying to see in the sky.

The pros: Clean viewfinder and once you get it lined up, it provides a nice view. For the price, I'm pretty impressed with how clean the optics actually are. 

The cellphone holder: I tried attaching my phone to it. First of all, you need to take the case off your phone... which is fine, however, with it being so small, I worry that it's going to fall over and break my phone. It didn't. Not this time anyhow. So, the next issue I had was focusing. It had to be in just the right spot after I lined everything up and my phone (iPhone XR) took quite a few attempts to focus. I never did get a clear photo from attaching my phone, but Im going to keep playing with it and see what I can come up with. Maybe daylight spotting with the phone would be easier to test. 

If you don't know much about telescopes, the manual that comes with it won't be much help. Do a little reading online and learn about them before you go playing with this.
