When I filled the squares just under the top level I thought I'd never get it to the freezer without spilling, But despite the movement of the silicone tray while carrying there was no spillage, the cubes are a good large size and slip right out when ready, my son gets through hundreds of bagged ice cubes so this is a great alternative. I'm very impressed with this pair of ice cube trays.
