I recently finished a paint by number and decided I wanted to do something more so went browsing Amazon to see what was available. I kept seeing 5D diamond paintings but had never done one. I had never even heard of these before and was intrigued! When I saw one available for review I eagerly snapped it up and got to work as soon as it came in. I admit I was a tad overwhelmed when I first opened it and took things out of the package. There were SOOO many tiny pieces. I had no clue how I was ever going to get through it all and make something beautiful. And there were no instruction. I had no clue what to do, where to begin, how it even worked. My son and I sat and fiddled around with things trying to figure out how to use the pen to make the diamonds stick to the adhesive backing. We quickly figured out how to get them to stick to the backing, but were clueless as to how to use the pen. By coincidence, my son spilled the diamonds from his tray and they stuck to the gel like substance that we had no clue what it was included for and he had the bright idea of sticking some of it on the tip of the pen to pick things up. Once we figured that out it went amazingly fast. The other challenge we had was figuring out some of the color correspondence. There is a chart on the side of the canvas and each bag had the numbers on them, but we still had a few colors that really confused us. We really should have made sure we knew exactly which colors went with what numbers before we began because I ended up having to peel all of one color off and start over. Not fun and a total waste of time. But luckily the adhesive stuck to both the canvas AND the diamons I had removed, so when I was ready to re-place them on the canvas, they stuck with no problems. There are two canvases in this package, so you get the chance to do two different paintings. The Walk in Rainy Night painting is a full drill, meaning you cover the entire canvas with the diamonds. The Rainy Lovers painting is only partial drill, so there are places that there is no adhesive, no numbers, and therefore no diamonds to place. I honestly am not sure which one I like more. The full drill is definitely different, but the partial gives it more dimension. Both are very interesting in the final outcome. I am not sure if I want to frame and hang these though. While I like how they look and thoroughly enjoyed the process (once I figured it out), I am not sure I like them enough to hang them. My husband was not impressed at all and my kids said it looked pixelated and unclear. Since I have so many naysayers in my home, I am setting them aside for now and will decide if I hang them later. If you are looking for a DIY project that is detailed but not boring, try out some 5D diamond painting. I am already looking at others I may want to try out, even if they aren't destined for my walls. The process was addicting for me! #RankBoosterReview #sponsored #Yomiie #5Dpainting #paintbynumbers #fulldrill #partialdrill #painting #homedecor #decor #wallart #art #diyart #diywallart #canvasart Get yours here: https://amzn.to/2K1cFOV
