I added essential oils in the diffuser, but I can't smell anything unless I put my nose right on top of it. I put the same essential oil in another diffuser, I can smell it without any problems. So, it's more like a cool mist humidifier...
It worked as advertised. I like it since is rechargable and portable. I wish it comes with more replacement tips.
