This is ideal for my older dog ( a 12 year old springer spaniel) who has arthritis and struggles to get up. It offers a good level of support but is nice snd soft for him. The sides are nice and firm and even though he rests he's head on the sides they haven't lost there shape. He definitely is more comfortable in this bed than he was he's last one which was just a standard dog bed.
it's well made and has a removable cover so it can be easily washed. Good value overall
